This Kokeshi Art by Kato Tatsuo refers to a type of atmospheric ghost lights associated with foxes in Japanese folklore. Kitsunebi are often described as small, glowing orbs or flames, sometimes appearing in a series or chain, that are believed to be created by foxes. The kokeshi is also dated 1977 and is one of his earlier works. You can clearly see from the face of the doll that it is distinct from his later work in the 80s. The eyes are different and the nose is not yet in relief.
