This kokeshi, made by Chiyomatsu Kano, has a very modernistic design with her hair being the obvious center of attention. What a fun design. Knowing that kokeshi originated as toys, it is very pleasant to find some fun-design in the more advanced kokeshi Art too. This kokeshi is made from Keyaki (Japanese zelkova) wood and she comes with her original box.
