This kokeshi by Isamu Yamakawa (山川いさむ) features a serene, contemplative figure with a simple, elongated form and delicate floral decoration. The pale blossoms scattered across the warm wood evoke the last traces of winter snow, while the subtle pink tones suggest the arrival of spring. Titled Remains of Snow (Nagoriyuki, 名残り雪), the piece captures the fleeting moment when winter gives way to a new season, expressing the quiet beauty of nature’s transition.
