Girl with Long Hair (Nagai Kami no Shōjo, ながい髪の少女) by Shozan Shido (志形尚山) is a striking study in simplicity and form. Her elongated silhouette and smoothly carved hair create a continuous, flowing shape, while the natural grain and warm tones of the wood give the piece depth and character. With her delicately drawn features and serene expression, this kokeshi captures a quiet elegance, allowing the beauty of the wood and the sculptural form to take centre stage.
