This set of three kokeshi by Issetsu Kuribayashi has a beautiful yet strong appearance. As in most of Kuribayashi's dolls the natural wood has a predominant role. This set of kokeshi nicely illustrates this. The wood used for this kokeshi is most likely Enju (Japanese pagoda tree).
