Snow Child (Yukiwarabe) 雪童, by Yoshida Takashi 吉田多加志, depicts a small, bundled-up figure whose rounded silhouette and deeply textured wooden surface evoke the quiet stillness of winter. The carved hood frames a serene face, while the tied bow and simple garment details are carefully defined through subtle relief carving. The natural warmth of the wood contrasts with the wintry imagery suggested by the title, capturing the charm and simplicity of a child dressed for the cold.
